Netcover started as subsidiary of M-Web and was established as company in 1998 by M-Web and Santam as joint venture with the largest provider of Internet access in South Africa , and formed part of the Media 24 press group owned by National Press.
A management buyout in 2002 set Netcover up as independent brokerage with key strengths being short term insurance schemes for various large corporate clients, in addition to a full car and household insurance service to individual clients via the internet.
Netcover manages cell phone insurance schemes as administrator and risk manager on behalf of insurance companies and has some 10 000 cell phones on cover.
Netcover has its head office in Durbanville, Cape Town, has a branch office in Johannesburg and is registered, as an insurance broker at Santam, Mutual and Federal, Auto and General, S.A Eagle and Renasa and is a broker of good standing with these underwriters.
